Photoshoot, Pasta and Vino

Our shirts arrived from Italy on Wednesday and after the mandatory inventory, we got a few friends and very talented models together to photograph every beautiful single item. Friday night we gathered to shoot a few pictures for www.alwaysgetLucky.com

Naturally anything we do at alwaysgetLucky has to, by law, include food, wine and fun. Marco brought a fine bottle of Champagne so we just had to start in a celebratory manner. A fine bubbly is always a good way to start or finish events and this case was no different.

As the pasta was being prepared the models couldn't help but look through and try on some of the new arrivals. The finest of European fabrics are intently sewn to form shirts that are adorned with laser engraved buttons were hard not to try on. Wine was uncorked from a blind selection that each of us made to be consumed as three sauces, Bolognese, Vodka and Pesto were offered up to make individual dishes.

Once we started snapping away, I found that even the out takes were great and reflected the fun as you can see in Anya's radiant smile,

Marco and Gretchen's playfulness as Gretchen wears one of the men's stretch cotton striped beauties.

I am sure that this will be the first of many gatherings to create the best art one can create....LIFE!!!!

when all around you they are losing their heads....keep your heart

At a faster and faster pace the world keeps coming at us as we try to adapt as best we can and have through our history on earth. The constant seems to be that the day still holds twenty-four hours with more to do, more to read, more music to hear, more phone calls, e-mails, texts.

Frenetically we go through our days forgetting what yesterday and the day before were all about.
The amount of data we consume is growing exponentially and I believe, we battle to keep up with it as we believe this is pertinent to our survival.

Is it? At what cost? Do some of us adapt, evolve and thrive while others about us lose their heads? Our hearts? Our very souls? If nothing matters but to survive, to meek out an existence, then it's all quite irrelevant I think. If on the other hand....and there is always another hand, we choose to be meaningful in our lives, then it is the quality of life and not the quantity that should define us.

I hope that in the days, months and years to come we all define our existence in terms that can be measured by the love we share, by the joy we can so capably give one another to enrich us in ways never before experienced.

You may ask yourself what, if anything, does this have to do with my designing, my shirt collections, with alwaysgetLucky.com?

Nothing.

It has everything, however, to do with my heart.

Peace,
Lucky

around the corner

So often we let life get in the way of living. This concept perhaps seems odd at first, but I think most, if not all of us, have been so overtaken with the day to day activities of our lives that we forget the moments that are the essence of those days.

I have been fortunate to experience such highs and lows that I have gained incredible appreciation and respect for both.

This was just one of those moments. I had taken a day from my work schedule in Italy to travel up to the small towns in the western Alps. It was quiet and peaceful, one might think almost eerily so, but I didn't find it eerie, I just found it quiet and peaceful.

As I walked the old streets and turned corners, discoveries of people living life were everywhere. The lack of crowds may have added to my enjoyment in seeing people living life for themselves, for no other purpose but for living. And because our paths crossed, their moments became...my moments as well.

Why "really really made in Italy"?

Over several years as the manufacturing world changed, many well known Italian designers and manufacturers have moved their production to Asia, Easter Europe, North Africa and where ever the costs could be lowered. Naturally the quality and integrity of the garments also gave way.

Unfortunately the consumers were never let in on the switch, the "Made in Italy" label continued to be used and once again the customer got less than what he paid for. This also occurs here in United States, territories in the pacific get to use laborers that don't work under USA labor laws but still get to use the "Made in the USA" label.

I wanted to be sure YOU understood all of this and that when our labels say "really really made in italy", it is because each garment is produced from European fabrics and MADE IN ITALY!!!
